How to Dress for the Bars in Baltimore

This one is for the ladies who, like me, can never find anything to wear. Half the time, the struggle of trying to pick out an outfit makes me not even want to go out anymore. Choosing what to wear can be even harder if you are going out in an area you are unfamiliar with. Maybe you're extra nervous because you're trying out a new bar, or maybe you're worried about standing out too much.

No matter what, clothes shouldn't be something to stress over. In Baltimore, you'll see people wearing a pretty side range of outfits, so you can't really go wrong. For the most part, though, people wear pretty standard "bar clothes". Here are some simple outfits that you can wear with totally nothing to worry about! Make them some of your go-to looks and you won't have to stress about having "nothing to wear".

1. For an average summer night

A jean skirt is a staple that every twenty-something-year-old girl needs in her closet. It's today's bar equivalent of the "little black dress" and definitely something you see a lot of in Baltimore. You can really never go wrong with it and it's so easy to put a cute outfit together around it. Pair it with a crop top, tube top, tank top - really anything - and some heels and you're good to go!

2. For that weird in-between weather

This is that weather where you don't know if you're going to end up being cold or hot all night. Just play it safe with high-waisted jeans (the ultimate go-to), booties, and a tank top or bodysuit. Super easy and will keep you warm enough outside without getting too hot inside the bar.

3. For a special occasion

Although the Baltimore bar scene is generally a little more casual, there's nothing wrong with wanting to dress up a little on a special night! For example, if you're celebrating a friend's birthday you might want to wear something more exciting than you usually do. A cute romper or miniskirt is a great option for a night like this. A little more fun without doing too much.

4. For when you just don't feel like getting ready

EVERY girl has nights where they wish they could just wear sweatpants to the bar. Unfortunately, that's not really something I'd recommend in Baltimore, but that doesn't mean you can't still dress comfortably for a night out. On a night like this, opt for some soft wide-legged pants with a crop top and sandals. Very comfy but still very cute and bar-appropriate.

5. For a COLD night out

There is nothing harder than trying to decide what to wear for the bar when it is absolutely freezing outside, especially in Baltimore where you have to walk around a lot from bar to bar. You don't want to bundle up to go out, so a good solution is to wear high-waisted jeans, thigh-high boots, a crop top, and a suede jacket over top. That way you'll be somewhat warm enough outside, but then you can take your jacket off if you get hot in the bar (because you definitely will).

Try one of these outfits next time you can't figure out what to wear. They're all perfectly suited for Baltimore, and you'll definitely be looking good! Once you have the outfit, your next struggle will be figuring out how to get where you're going.
